Orissa is the heart of Indian mining, especially bauxite from which aluminium is won. A Township was required to house the staff of Jharsuguda, where Indian's biggest aluminium smelter is under construction. The entire Township is divided into 2 phases. In the first phase, which is spread over 70 acres, the housing is predominantly formed by clusters of G+4 around a semi-enclosed courtyard. Great emphasis has been place on landscape space where the central heart of the township is taken up with a meandering water body, a temple and high end executive bungalows.
Currently the second phase of the township is under construction.
